The St. John’s Hospital Foundation Cardiology Fund was established to support heart healthy initiatives at St. John’s Medical Center. Since its inception, the fund has supported new equipment for the St. John’s Cardiology Group and Dr. William Mullen, as well as staff CPR training, the purchase of portable defibrillators, and activities and education that support heart health. The Teen Heart Screening, established in 2016, receives its funding from the Cardiology Fund.
The Cardiology Fund also helps to support the Stroke & Cardiac Care Fund which provides individual financial support in the aftermath of a stroke or cardiac event.
Events like Shirley’s Heart Run support the fund and enable hundreds of community members to participate in a heart healthy event at the same time making donations that help the heart of the community.
